This garden used pale porcelain tiles for a sunken patio area the client can walk on to from their downstairs studio.
The rest of the garden was levelled and terraced using reclaimed tropical hardwood sleepers set upright to create a unique informal shape around the level main lawn. Tumbled mint fossil sandstone setts with a buff-coloured resin jointing compound frame the garden with gently meandering paths. These lead past a variety of planting including lavenders, ferns, black elder and grasses.
A multi-stemmed Betula albosinensis ‘Fascination’ serves as a focal point and feature tree in the main bed.
